The click days, or annual number of days that foreign nationals can apply for temporary work permits, is something that the Italian government wishes to expand.
This was affirmed at a government conference with national unions and organizations, where measures to strengthen the law were disclosed.
The number of regular foreign workers in Italy has not yet reached the requirements set by the market, prompting this intervention with new measures.
The government wants to improve Bossi-Fini law, but not by changing it.
During the discussion, the government brought up the need for adjustments to make it easier for foreign workers to enter the nation. The Bossi-Fini statute shouldn’t be altered, nevertheless.
The immigration law known as the Bossi-Fini statute was enacted by two previous ministers and governs the following:
- Tighter rules for foreigners and their families to obtain residence permits.
- It requires foreign workers to secure a job offer before entering the country in order for third-country nationals to work jobs that cannot be filled by Italian or EU nationals.
- Enhances the powers of authorities to deport and detain irregular migrants.
- Imposes penalties on employers who hire undocumented workers.
The decree law’s parameters were disclosed by government Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano; the Council of Ministers will soon get a presentation of them.

The fact that flows have led to scams and other abnormalities may be a contributing factor in the government’s focus on flows. There are suspicions that organized crime has some sort of insider connection to this scheme.
In an earlier statement, Prime Minister Meloni said that criminal organizations were abusing Italy’s seasonal employment visas.
She continued by saying that information on Italian visas being resold for up to $15,000 had been leaked by Bangladeshi nationals.
