is the official start of Italy’s “click day” system for this year, which allows Italian employers to apply to import foreign citizens to the nation so they can hire them for their businesses
Depending on the sort of worker and the industry they will be working in, applications for foreign workers can be submitted on three separate days, according to the Italian authorities
Italian firms are now accepting applications for non-seasonal workers from nations with which Italy has cooperation agreements as of today, February 5. This category of foreign workers has a 2025 quota of around 70,720.
This figure indicates that Italy requires a significant number of non-seasonal workers and is facing a labor shortage in various industries and regions of the nation.
Applications for a second wave of foreign workers will be accepted on Friday, February 7, 2025. According to Stranieri in Italia, this day will allow Italian employers to seek additional seasonal and independent contractors, including those who will be employed in the social healthcare industry.
This year, the aforementioned group of workers will have a quota of approximately 730.
Finally, applications for seasonal workers who will work in the tourism and agriculture industries will be accepted starting on February 12, 2025. This category of international workers will receive about 110,000 permits.
This indicates that Italy intends to hire about 181,450 foreign workers overall in 2025. Permits to live and work will be issued to these employees.
The majority of the available quotas will be allocated during the three “click days.” However, Italian companies who have not been able to meet their company’s needs and still require workers will be able to seek more personnel.
However, as annual quotas govern foreign citizens’ access to the Italian labor market, only essential additional requests will be granted.
In order to improve their prospects of hiring foreign workers, firms have been able to take advantage of the click days and complete all the necessary paperwork.
In addition, foreign employees have been asked to fulfill all the standards. A valid passport, documentation of professional or educational credentials, if applicable, a certificate of residency from the country of origin, and an employment contract signed by the foreign worker and their employer are all necessary.
